Bruce Nauman: Phenomenology of the Absurd

Sep 30, 2002

8:00–10:00pm ET

It could be argued that Bruce Nauman has been the greatest single influence on art in the last decades. A leading force in the fields of conceptual, performance, video, and installation art, his work presents the phenomenology of language and mind, focusing on absurd conundrums of everyday behavior for which no resolution is apparent. The publication of Robert C. Morgan’s critical anthology Bruce Nauman is occasion for this public reflection on the artist’s ideas and contributions.
