Talk

Matthew Ritchie

Mar 30, 2004

6:00–8:00pm ET

The New School, Tishman Auditorium

Matthew Richie is a fierce, independently minded, visionary artist. His multifarious paintings, sculptures, installations, and web-based works explore the nature of perception and the way we describe the universe. He draws on a warehouse of information from historical archive to contemporary internet sources in works which challenge us to question the basic processes of human consciousness. The session starts with a recent sound work. Richie’s discussion follows.

Tuesday Night Talks is an ongoing series of presentations and discussions by some of today’s most influential artists, critics, and curators, produced by The Public Art Fund.
