Alani Bass
Summer Curatorial Intern
Alani Bass is a recent graduate from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Art History. She served as an Assistant to the Director in the Studio Museum in Harlem in addition to interning in their Education department where she worked on Expanding the Walls, a photography program for High School students. As an intern at the Palestine Exploration Fund in London, Bass maintained and expanded upon an extensive digital archive of maps of Western Palestine. She is thrilled to continue her commitment to the arts at the Vera List Center, and hopes to further cultivate these interests in graduate school.

Elizabeth Larison
Summer Curatorial Intern
Elizabeth Larison (B.A. Bard College) is a curator, collaborator, and interdisciplinary artist with an educational background in Human Rights. With particular interest in the use of aesthetics and art as a tactical tool in political and social discourse, her current research includes the use of virtuality and disembodied representations to hedge social or political advances. She has worked extensively with Flux Factory, in Long Island City, New York, and is currently a M.A. Candidate at Bard Center for Curatorial Studies.

Samantha L. Plesser
Samamtha L. Plesser graduated from Brown University in 2005 with double honors in Literature and Psychology and went on to earn her J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2009. She worked for a financial services firm for approximately 3 years, earning the prestigious "NYC Rising Star award" in 2013-2014, given to attorneys under 40 who are performing both ethically and professionally above their peers. Realizing that her aim of helping others was not being reached in her work as a corporate attorney, Plesser enrolled in the Milano School of Nonprofit Management to pursue social justice and public policy.
